Are you tired of grading assignments where every student's submission is similar and students are not as engaged as they could be? Open educational resources (OER) can help change your pedagogical approach to assignments!
OER-enabled pedagogy provides students with the importance of creating something for a wider audience and a product that survives beyond the confines of a college semester, and that can continually serve the greater public. Rather than assignments written by instructors that students complete and only instructors read/grade and then dispose of, OER-enabled pedagogy affords students creative engagement toward a product with significantly more reach and reason beyond the traditional college assignment purpose.
This presentation will
- define and explain OER-enabled pedagogy
- present various assignment examples of OER-enabled pedagogy created by students
- summarize the benefits and challenges that can be experienced when using OER-enabled pedagogy
