This workshop will provide information about models of disability (medical, social, and neurodiversity models) and how these impact the way we view disability in society, and in our classrooms and programs. New ways of thinking about disability as a type of natural human diversity will be illustrated, including the concepts of disability pride, disability identity, and disability as an asset and strength. Attendees will be provided with resources and ideas to continue professional development in this area, and to support representation of disability and universal design for learning principles within their curriculum.
