Standard events are held in areas such as:
- Student Center
- At the Quad stage
- In a facility equipped for self-service such as LRC 105 or RHN 258, and that require only the standard equipment installed in these facilities
To request Media Services assistance with your standard event, complete the Media Services Event Support Request a minimum of two weeks prior to your event date. Staff support is limited to setup prior to an event and tear-down after the event is complete; staff is not available to run audio/visual equipment during events.
If your event requires any equipment not shown on the form or in any facility not listed on the form, see custom events.
Custom events are events:
- Held in any facility or area on campus not shown on the event support request
- That require equipment not shown on the event support request
(For example, all events in the Performing Arts Center are custom events, and an event on the Quad in a location other than the stage would be a custom event.)
Custom events require advance planning and discussion to determine if they are feasible based on staff and available equipment.
For assistance in planning audiovisual support for your custom event:
- Submit the Media Services Event Support Request form and select “Other Location” (Custom Event) from the Facility dropdown
- Contact the media resources supervisor or call (916) 558-2215 at least one month prior to your event
For advice or information related to new audiovisual equipment purchases, please contact the media resources supervisor.
Instructional Video Production
Media Services provides technical support for instructional video production. Media Services may be able to assist with media duplication and audio and video file or format conversion. To discuss a potential project and/or to book studio time, contact the media resources supervisor.
Video production is frequently more time consuming than it may seem and we recommend reaching out about a potential project as early as possible.
