Computer Replacement Cycle

The college is committed to a yearly computer replacement cycle with configurations for MAC and PC to ensure that equipment is kept up-to-date and therefore able to support instruction, administration, and student services.

  • Most users are on a 5-year replacement cycle.
  • Three-year cycle computers are assigned to faculty who teach courses requiring computers or labs where the most current software is a requirement for a course.
  • Other computers are updated by cascading 3-year cycle equipment; these computers are typically installed in low use areas.

The replacement cycle spreadsheet is sorted by division, asset location, projected replacement year, and computer type. The spreadsheet includes information on function (e.g. FS (Faculty/Staff) or Lab).

Asset Location Number

To look up a specific computer, use the asset location number which can be found on a label on your tower. The convention employed in creating the Asset Location number is the room number, dash, serial number (e.g. LR220-470318).
