This dashboard shows the data commonly requested by our tutoring areas. It provides usage and outcome data for each tutoring center for the past four years. The information includes the number of students using the various tutoring areas, and the course success and retention rates, for students in the courses for which they received tutoring. These data elements can be broken out by a variety of student characteristics.

Enrollment or Course Enrollment is a college-wide number of grade notations.
For example, a student who received four grade notations counts as four enrollments.
Headcount or Unduplicated Enrollment is the number of students with at least one grade notation.
For example, a student is only counted once regardless of the number of grade notations received.
Success or Course Success is the number of enrollments with a grade of A, B, C, Pass (P), or Credit (CR).
Success rates are calculated by dividing the number of A, B, C, P, and CR grades by the total number of grades awarded (A, B, C, P, CR, D, F, NP, I, W), and multiplying the result by 100.
Drop or Course Drop is the number of enrollments with a grade notation of W (Withdrawal).
Drop Rates are calculated by dividing the number of W grades by the total number of grades awarded (A, B, C, P, CR, D, F, NP, I, W), and multiplying the result by 100.
Course Retention or Course Completion is the number of enrollments with any grade notation except Withdrawal (W).
Course Retention rates are calculated by dividing the number of A, B, C, P, CR, D, F, NP, and I grades by the total number of grades awarded (A, B, C, P, CR, D, F, NP, I, W), and multiplying the result by 100.
Online is 100% of the instruction time through the internet. Lecture is 100% face-to-face in a lecture class. Lab is 100% face-to-face in a graded lab section.
Hybrid is labeled inconsistently (MIS has no Definition of “Hybrid”) and typically means between 51% and 99% of the instruction time through the internet.
The “Other” category includes one or more of the following: Directed Study/Independent Study, Field Experience, One Way Live Video & Audio, Taped Cable TV, and Work Experience.

During the Spring 2020 transition to remote operations in response to COVID-19, students were allowed to take EWs (emergency withdrawals) when withdrawing from classes. In addition, all withdrawals for Spring 2020 courses received on or after March 13th, 2020 were automatically converted to EWs. EWs do not affect a student's GPA or unit load, and they do not count as a "failure" according to the conventional method for calculating success rates. This means that the usual method for calculating success rates and unit load returns artificially high success rates and artificially low unit loads for Spring 2020. To preserve comparability between Spring 2020 and previous terms, the success rates for Spring 2020 presented in this dashboard are calculated by counting EWs as a "failing" grade (i.e. including them in the success rate denominator), rather than removing them from the calculation entirely. Unit load calculations in this report include course enrollments ending with an EW grade for Spring 2020 only. In addition, there were fewer D and F grades issued in Spring 2020 due to the implementation of the EW system. This particularly impacts success rates and GPA.
For reference, from March 13th, 2020 onward, there were 9,050 EW grades issued during the Spring 2020 term.
