This page represents all that the SRC does, it is a portal for you to:

  • Evaluate a professional learning opportunity you engaged in
  • Provide insight about a future event, a website recommendation, an idea about Convocation (perhaps your group wants to be featured) and more
  • Ask for a consultation for your own personal professional learning plan or the needs of a team that is trying to move the needle and wants to meet with equity coordinators and find an intentional travel opportunity

Planning an Event

The Planning an Event page has details about all the stages of an event and is a great place to start.

  • If you are seeking FLEX approval for your event, note that it is on the All-In-One Professional Learning Form.
  • If you are not seeking FLEX approval for your event (FLEX would allow for faculty to declare the event as meeting part of their contractual requirement), you can use this planning page to go through all of the necessary steps.

Please read the Planning an Event page to get a sense of the breadth of an event. Note that the SRC insists on at least a 4-6 week lead time for all events during the semester so that virtual interpreters can be found if necessary, AV/Media needs can be met, and space on campus can be securely reserved.

Share Your Ideas

Form to share your ideas about various items around professional learning:

  • Features we might put on the professional learning website.
  • Recommend changes to the website, such as adding an organization to our Resources for Transformational Learning page.
  • An idea for a professional learning event that either you or somebody else might facilitate.
  • You want something to be featured or added to the SRC newsletter which goes out every other week.

Ask for a Consultation

Want to map out a plan for your professional development, or want to become a regular facilitator of professional learning events at SCC (and then beyond once you've plied your craft locally)? Maybe your goal is infusing equity and antiracism into what you do individually or within a center, committee, organization, etc., but don't quite know where to start.

Please fill out this general Contact the SRC Team contact form for opportunities for a consultation. We'll respond initially by email and that might later blossom into a meeting where we can listen to you and provide perspective.

Give Feedback for an Event - 6 or More Months Later

Reflect on a Professional Learning Event from 6 months or longer ago. Tell us how you incorporated that learning into your practice. This is so important! It goes toward spaced repetition, so that you are relearning and maybe filling in gaps of your understanding.

It also allows us to determine what types of professional learning have a lasting impact that are carried beyond the event's time boundaries.

In order to receive funds from CWT approved by the Staff Resource Center, you committed to a follow-up. Those that are privileged to travel to learn new things can bring their gained knowledge back to benefit the entire SCC family.
